Course Fishing
We have a pond just a short walk down the field which is for sole use of the cottages, so it is very quiet and relaxing. Basic fishing equipment can be provided. If you prefer we have another pond or the River Mease which is a short drive to Lullington on the farm that we live on the river provides a beautiful walk and has been given a SSSI status. There are lots of wild life to see, including a family of swans, Barn Owls, Herons, Buzzards and many more.
Riding Paddock and Stables
We have a paddock with field shelter available for anyone who would like to bring their horses/ponies on holiday with them. Take them up to the 35 acres of National Forest trees that we have recently planted it is only ¾ of a mile up the road, or round the country lanes in the area. We also have tracks around 90 acres of arable fields adjacent to the cottages for anyone who prefers to stay off road.
Tennis
We have a local tennis club just ½ mile down the road that are very friendly and can offer tennis coaching during the day. Information available at www.grangewoodtennis.co.uk.
TV, Video, DVD/CD Player
The televisions have digital reception so there are plenty of channels to chose from and if you would like to have a night in and relax why not borrow one of our DVD's that we can provide from our large library.
Games
We also provide board games and books for children and adults.
Bikes
We have a small selection of bikes on request, also they can be hired locally.
Barbeque
We can deliver you a barbeque to cook yourself something on those hot summer days/nights.
Therapy
We can have someone come and provide this service in the comfort of the cottages, ie; Reiki, Indian Head massage, Hot Stone Massage, Mongolian Scalp and foot massage, Tibetan Aqua Press massage information is provided in the cottages as you need to pre-book, if you feel that you definitely require this before arriving we can book an appointment for you, just give us a call.
Transport
Information is available in the cottages if you require a taxi, also there is a bus stop only 1.2 miles down the road that runs on an hourly service.
The local village shop is only 1.6 miles away and if you prefer a larger cooperative store, that is approximately 2 miles.
Shopping
If you require we can deliver a basic shop to the property ready for your arrival. Please let us know on booking.
We are only 4 miles from Junction 11 of the M42.
We have Ashby De La Zouch, Swadlincote, Burton upon Trent and Tamworth, all within 10-15 minutes drive.
